Toyota Reveals New Tagline ‘Let’s Go Places’!

Toyota announced an engaging new tagline today, “Let’s Go Places,” reflecting the company’s commitment to more exciting products and the promise that customers are invited to take part in shaping Toyota’s future.  The new theme, which represents the vision of Toyota Motor Corporation President, Akio Toyoda, was revealed today at the Toyota National Dealer Meeting in Las Vegas.

“Let’s Go Places” evokes the forward-looking and optimistic momentum of Toyota in America.  It invites consumers on a journey to see new places, discover new possibilities and dream big dreams together with Toyota.  “Let’s Go Places” begins today to engage consumers to discover Toyota and will debut nationally on December 31, 2012, as part of the campaign for the radically new Avalon, the embodiment of Toyota’s new direction.  “Let’s Go Places” replaces the previous Toyota tagline “Moving Forward.”

“Let’s Go Places” speaks to the evolution of Toyota and our commitment to leading through innovation, enriching lives and connecting with customers in new ways they define,” said Bill Fay, group vice president and general manager, Toyota Division.  “It is energetic, aspirational, inclusive and very versatile.  The phrase conveys a dual meaning of physically going places and taking off on an adventure, while also expressing optimism and the promise of exciting innovation that enriches people’s lives.  It allows our associates, customers, dealers and suppliers to interpret it in ways that are most personally relevant to them.”

“Let’s Go Places” emphasizes the thrill of innovation for a better way to live and drive, and delivers on that promise in a variety of ways – from seven, exciting all-new or updated Toyota and Scion vehicles in 2013, to unique community-giving programs such as 100 Cars for Good, to partnerships like Toyota’s Personal Branding Initiative to assist veterans in translating their military skills into employment opportunities.

The new tagline is the result of extensive research and collaboration with longtime partners Saatchi & Saatchi, Dentsu America, Conill, Burrell, Intertrend, and Grieco Research.

Beginning in 2013, “Let’s Go Places” will be integrated into all of Toyota’s national and regional advertising, engagement, communications and digital across all segments.

Customers Del & Dwight have been buying Toyota's for their entire family for many years at Toyota Carlsbad. Starting with the 4Runner, and moving on to the Celica, Corolla, Camry, Prius, Highlander, and Sequoia, the Kono’s are as pleased with the Toyota product as they are with the excellent service they receive from their Service Adviser Dave Ramstad. Thank you for your many years of patronage.  We appreciate you Del & Dwight!

As a special thank you to our valued clients and to share in the celebration of our 40th Anniversary, we chose two sets of loyal guests to receive a $250.00 gift certificate to Vintana Restaurant, at The Centre at Lexus Escondido.

Thomas and Jean have been Toyota owners since 1979.  With two Avalons, a Sienna, a Venza and a Celica in their line-up, they are very familiar with Toyota quality.  Each time they purchase a new Toyota from Toyota Carlsbad, they enjoy “making the rounds.” They come in to see General Sales Manager Rick Bilgrien, who takes great care of them, and then on to Mandy in finance to wrap things up.  They are currently waiting for the 2013 Avalon to come in, so get ready Rick and Mandi! Thank you for being such loyal customers!

Scion FR-S Earns IIHS ‘Top Safety Pick,’ Giving TMS the Most in Auto!

The 2013 Scion FR-S rear-wheel-drive sports car has earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s “Top Safety Pick” rating, bringing the company’s total of IIHS Top Safety Picks awards to 18, the most of any manufacturer in the industry.

FR-S comes standard with six airbags, including dual-stage advanced driver- and front-passenger airbags, front-seat-mounted airbags and side-curtain airbags.  Like all Scions, the FR-S features the Star Safety System that includes Traction Control (TRAC), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Brake Assist (BA), an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Smart Stop Technology (SST).

The 18 Toyota, Lexus and Scion models named Top Safety Picks this year are the Toyota Avalon, Camry, Corolla, Highlander, Prius, Prius c, Prius v, Sienna, Tundra (crew cab), Venza and Yaris (4-door hatchback); Scion tC, xB, xD, and FRS; and Lexus CT 200h, GS and RX.

In its effort to determine crashworthiness — how well a vehicle protects its occupants in a crash — the Institute rates vehicles good, acceptable, marginal or poor based on performance in high-speed front and side crash tests, a rollover test, plus evaluations of seat/head restraints for protection against neck injuries in rear impacts.  Top Safety Picks must have good ratings in all four tests.
